Illinois Digital Map Mosaic Products:

DOQ/DRG Map data is broken up into many small pieces, thousands of them, and working with a large area can be taxing to say the least.  Mosaics are a great solution to this.  We can take any area of either DOQ or DRG files and combine them into one master file. 

Our mosaic software balances the images contrast, gamma, and feathers overlap seems to produce huge area map files.  This is done quickly on dual processor Intel Xenon machines running 3.6GHz CPU's.  For example we can combine over ten DOQ files that comprise the "Chicago Loop" area all into one huge 500MB master image file in under 14 minutes. 

We can also resample the DOQ's 1ft. per pixel data to lower resolutions such as 2ft. or 4ft. per pixel.  Mosaic construction is charged by the hour, $40 per hour, one hour minimum per mosiac, including disk delivery on CD or DVD. 

Except for the largest of jobs most can be completed in under an hour.  Very large jobs can be delivered on external HD at extra cost.

INDR GIS dataset Products & Downloads:

G-1 has written a fairly reliable ArcGIS .e00 ascii file translator in AutoLisp (Click to download AutoLisp .e00 Translator). This program can convert the portions of the .e00 file structure most useful in AutoCAD.  G-1 has translated the GIS database of the Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources from their IDNR Geo-spatial clearinghouse.  This huge database of Illinois natural features is most useful. 

AutoCAD's layer command allows for selective viewing of various datasets together yielding surprising pictures of how Illinois citizens and communities interface with their infrastructure and resources.  The original INDR GIS .e00 database can be found here. 

G-1 has taken each .e00.txt file and translated into AutoCAD, each named for the .e00 it was translated from.  In each file the .e00 data is placed on a layer named for the source .e00 file. We have links below for the combination DWG file, a DWF file of the same DWG, a ZIP file containing each of the separate DWG files for each .e00 file, and a ZIP file for all the source .e00 files.  All of these are available here free for download. 

The files can be purchased on CD for $6 plus shipping and handling.  We have also included a link for a great PDF version of the USGS topo(DRG) Index Sheet.  This is a good map from which to choose which DRG or DOQ file is needed for your project.  

G-1 can create great plots and mosaics of combinations of all these datasets of the State of Illinois.  We have them all in house and ready to work with.
